Beta Cloth VERSIV

Tightly-woven and PTFE-coated, Beta Cloth has the strength and flexibility for applications on the International Space Station and beyond.

Beta Cloth

Beta Cloth is a fiberglass fabric with an extremely tight weave – making it an ideal protective layer in aerospace applications. This composite has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is woven internally then coated with PTFE. With low off-gassing, it’s ideally suited to applications on satellites and space stations.

Product Details

Exclusive to Saint-Gobain, Beta Cloth was originally developed for aerospace applications. Light, strong, and exceptionally tightly-woven, it protects from atomic oxygen – especially when flying at low Earth orbit. This PTFE-coated fiberglass composite woven from Beta ® yarns has been used in space suits, lined space shuttle cargo bays and other critical areas, and currently flies on the International Space Station. Beta Cloth meets Sheldahl Spec F022300 Rev K, McDonnell Douglas STM0484-02 and Boeing North American MB0135-027 Rev. W Type 1 Form F. A unique product you’ll find nowhere else, its qualities are out of this world.
